When I was young, my friends and I had an apparent obsession with card trading. Recess could become an occassion of trade wars. We called it the Friendship cards. We would each doodle on small pieces of cardboard papers and we would paste the photos of our favourite actors/actresses onto the back of the cards. LOL !
And now,….I am so excited to see Papermarket is having such a fun card trading for the month of June. I have excitedly dressed up my cards for friends around me. And my, how addictive one can get making all these.
Sincere thank you to everyone for making my heart smile with all the pretty cards I have received
This card trading is so much fun ! Oh, well…friendship is magical !!!
Have a Sweet Tuesday everyone
Love,
jaz

Hello scrappers ! This June it’s all about hearts and rainbows.

Children are the perfect subjects to pair off with rainbows and in the layout, I’ve use old photos of my daughter when she was 4 years old at kindie. The photos were taken way before I had any experience in photography and my daughter ended up too small in them which posed a problem for layouts. Ideally the faces of the subject should be clear and fill a whole frame of a 4R sized photo. One solution with older photos (or badly taken photos) would be to silhouette them, ie. to cut around them, cropping away all the unsuitable background. What I managed to create was a layout where the small children seem to be part of a story book page with the rainbows breaking up the layout into sections.
Here are the details :

Products used were : Webster’s Pages Citrus Squeeze, Simple Stories, Echo Park, Crate paper chipboards and Making Memories alphabets.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope your June is fun !

Hi everyone,
as this is the month of june where we have more fun and connect with people, I decided to do a layout on a photo that we took recently just for some fun! (Spot any familiar people? hahaa) Just a simple stick and paste layout with a few dimensions here and there.

As you can see from the close up, I actually used a papermarket voucher as part of the layout because it has expired! But if your vouchers are expiring, feel free to go down to the store to get an extended one! Also, I have a added a rainbow notecard in the layout, do feel free to ask for one to write messages and exchange with your scrapping friends, family and staff! (psst, you get something great in exchange with us!!!! and also prizes when your card is the nicest!!)

Hope to keep you inspired and start thinking of using funny things to scrap!

In case you haven’t heard, we are having a donation card drive with RAINBOW centre and we would like to aim as many cards as we can to help for a good cause!!! These cards will be sold by the organisation as a fund raiser! this is the absolute best time to start using your old supplies!!! The details are below:

The cards do not need to be acid-free but must come with a envelope! I will feature a few of my card ideas as well as others next week so stay tuned!
Love,
terence Lee

At times, I see many beautiful blooms in the store. Love them, bought them but do not have an inkling of what to do with them. Seems a pity to have them shelved and enclosed as an embellishment on a layout. Having hoard a outrageous amount of (large) blooms, I decided to use them up in a practical ways and make them part of the wardrobe. Here’s an example of how I accessorized my girl’s skirt. Using blooms and ready made ruffles (from Melissa Frances).

Blooms (in Ms. Em’s favourite muted pastel colors) were hand sewn onto batting, felt and strips of long ribbons which act as a belt. Manufacturers like Melissa Frances and Prima, notably have an assortment of beautiful sizeable flowers.

Crafters who love to sew will be thrilled to wear your own customized creations! Crafters who are slightly challenged in this area will be glad to know fabric glue works wonder with these projects too.
Have a happy crafty Friday!

We couldn’t wait to finish our albums so today we have a bumper post to show you the last four pages of our album! Yay!!! The album is done!!!
SHMOO’S ALBUM: Page 17
Here are the materials I used for Page 17. It is actually two sheets of the same page. I saved half of the sheet for another page and used the back of the full sized page so that I could have a quieter background.

Here’s the page that I made after cutting apart the paper with the different patterns.

SHMOO’S ALBUM: Page 18
For this page, I used the leftover half of pattern from page 17 and once again used the back of a page to get a white background (I love white backgrounds) I also had a small strip of teal coloured ticket pattern paper left to use.

I like the colour scheme of the page that turned out:

SHMOO’S ALBUM: Page 19
For Page 19, these are the materials I used:

I cut out the centre portion of the paper (about the size of 6 polaroids) to use as the photo mat and then cut out my favourite polaroids from the remaining paper. This is the page that I came up with:

SHMOO’S ALBUM: Page 20 (LAST PAGE!)
And here are the papers I used for the last page! I managed to have just enough paper and used up all the pattern paper sheets! Yay!

I separated the pattern paper into separate pieces and cut out my favourite images (the banner, house and heart) and here is the page I came up with. A simple one to finish off the album!

MER’S ALBUM: Page 17
Hello! For Page 17, i used my favourite paper (the one with the clipboards) and some small knick-knacks as shown below…

I layered them simply around and the simple layout is complete!

MER’S ALBUM: Page 18
This page focuses on all the little bits, as i thought they looked like sprinklers that you can put on your ice cream…

They are clustered together on the left side, which saves the right for your photos

MER’S ALBUM: Page 19
I love the muted colours in this page, and i thought it makes it looks more romantic!

The embellishments are all layered and clustered in the bottom left…isnt it sweet?

MER’S ALBUM: Page 20
For the last page, i just wanted to be thankful for everything in my life! Bringing together the papers below, we can create that mood.

tadaaaaa!! Hope you enjoyed following us on this Scrap along session!

We’ll be back with a new challenge next week!

Hello scrappers !
Last week my daughter Stasha graduated from Poly and this layout is about that moment. Graduation is always a high point for any student and their parents, celebrated with much happiness as we remember the challenges to our time, energy and emotions.
I chose to work with mauve-brown papers from Basic Grey and Authentique, added Jenni Bowlin flag tags, stickers and journal card and Prima woodchip flowers. In terms of style, this layout has a modern feel, with lots of white space, even while the treatment of the products is shabby and distressed with inks.

Below are the details :

Thank you for dropping by. It’s the school holidays for families with kids, have a wonderful June ahead.
