Hi everyone,

this is the end of misting fun and we hope you’ve got enough ideas to use up everything on that bottle!!!

here’s a sample which i did using a gesso as a resist and sprayed a lovely red mist and distressed the card all over. I love how the gesso give a lovely texture feel.

Here’s the close up! I actually used alot of different techniques in the card. can you spot them.

Hopefully this card would delight its recipient! In other news, we would like to wish everyone a happy JUNE and holiday!

Pssssstt…. its actually a great month to make cards!

Scrap and love,

May 29 – Opposites Attack – Scrap Along Session 9

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013

Today we’re on to page 15 and 16!

MER’S ALBUM: Page 15

For my page 14, i decided to make a house, inspired by the paper with the word ‘Home’ on it1 I used one of the photo mats as the ‘body’ of the house and cut a triangular roof for it. For a more finished look, i wrapped the side of the photo mat with washi tape!

oh..and i added a chimney too!

MER’S ALBUM: Page 16

A little tip, this is how i lay out all my alphabets so i can see clearly what i have left! The next layout makes use of these little pieces i have as shown below…

Combining them simply, you get a finished page. Went with some torn papers and i love the effect!

SHMOO’S ALBUM: Page 15

Here are the materials I used for this page.  I cut ‘steps’ out of the number paper and used the leftover to make a white photo mat (use the back).  Then I embellished it with some stickers and bling:

Here’s the final page:

SHMOO’S ALBUM: Page 16

For this page I decided to draw some shapes (clouds) and cut them out from pattern paper.  These are the materials I used:

And here is my final page:

May 13th – At Home with Aida

Monday, May 13th, 2013

Hello scrappers ! I hope your Mother’s Day was fun and you got to enjoy the day with family or close friends.

This Monday I’d like to bring you sneaks of 2 new classes at Vivocity and what I love about them are the totally different styles and looks. Below is a layered project using a mix of Prima’s Fairy Belle and KI Memories titled Beautiful. If you have a dancer daughter like I have, or sweet little girls, this is the perfect project for you !

The second project is an accordion fold mini book made from scratch with 10 pages. It has a cute feel as I’ve used Echo Park’s  Sweet Girl chipboard and makes a pretty keepsake for your baby girl or as a gift for a new mother.

For June these workshops will only be at Vivocity. I hope to see you !!

May 10 – Mother’s Day Card

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

Hello fellow scrappers,

the first week of May breezed by and some of us are in the thick of the agonizing school mid-year examination. Ironically, in Singapore, Mother’s Day tends to (if not always…duh!) coincide with the period. While there’re many of   you mothers mugging along, we want to take this time to appreciate of some you – Moms.

Here’s a card adorned with Webster’s Pages pattern papers and Melissa Frances trims (tissue garland and lace).

Pearl stickers are always a great way to pull a piece of layout/card together, for a detailed & polished look.

Hope everyone ‘ll get sometime this weekend to do/remember how great and wonderful our moms are.

Blessed Mothers’ Day.

29th April – At Home with Aida

Monday, April 29th, 2013

Hello scrappers !

I love little tag or journal sheets as they are really useful. They make it easier to scrap or for projects, they save time and have remarks that are perfect, ready made to use. In the store you might’ve seen some of Elle’s Studio Journal cut outs and the Lil’ Snippets which have been very hard to resist as they are really cute. While the look is clean and modern, they can be used for shabby looking projects as well.

You can see I’ve used The Sweet Life cut-outs on the project and they work just fine in the shabby style.

More details.

The little girl vintage styled ephemera is from a K&Company Valentine pack .

The word Play and the children are from Jenni Bowlin, a favourite brand for me.

Thank you for joining me this Monday, have a good week ahead !

April 16 : Jaz’s Eye Candy

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

Hello everyone,

I am back on another fabulous Tuesday to share with you this OTP Masquerade Mask. First I painted the mask with gesso. As there are many nooks and crevices that make up the mask, I have chose to use a large piece of soft lace trim to cover the mask. To add dimensions and textures, I added some pretty charms and pearl strings. I have to say that the plush feathers from Prima add a perfect touch to this project ;)

Now you can alter your own masquerade mask, whether it’s for Halloween or any costume party, make it your own.

Thank you for dropping by. Have a beautiful week ;)

Love,

jaz

April 15 – At Home with Aida

Monday, April 15th, 2013

Hello scrappers !!

Do you regularly take classes at Paper Market ? Educators at the store work really hard to create workshops that are interesting, fun to attend and value for money. One question we get very often is : what techniques is there ? This is sometimes a difficult one to answer as the projects are created with a range of paper techniques from simple (like tearing paper) to the more sophisticated (like the use of mediums). Only at workshops specifically featuring products such as Ranger Inc are strictly technique based as it takes you through a whole slew of mediums, how to use them as well as advice about the possibilities you can create yourself.

This is the current class Secret Garden featuring Graphic 45′s beautiful collection by the same name. It is a 3.5 hours, 3 layout class where you will be shown how to make the most of complicated designs in the paper and layering them into layout compositions that are balanced. The classes are at Vivocity and the cosy classroom of maximum 6 scrappers will ensure you receive lots of personal attention during the workshops !

And this is one of the new classes for May at Vivocity : Birthday Fun !

Paper Market workshops aim to give you projects that are visually attractive because we know every scrapper wants memorable, pretty projects they can proudly display. We’d love to hear from you about the types of classes you’d like to see featured more, and if we are doing things right.

Have a great week ahead, keep safe, keep happy and scrap !
